NUDP Kicks Against Registration of Refugees by ELECAM

At a recent meeting convened by the National Union for Democracy and Progress (NUDP) in Bertoua to monitor the ongoing biometric registration exercise, Hon. Kombo Gbeeri, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and MP for the party alleged that Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) is registering foreigners, mostly from Central African Republic, giving them the right to partake in the elections.

, An opposition leader,Enoh Meyomesse, who did not make it to the final list of contestants for the 2011 presidential elections in Cameroon has been given a seven-year jail term as he was first accused of an attempted coup aimed at toppling the government of President Paul Biya, which has been at the helm of affairs since 1982.
