University of Bamenda Budgets 3.2 Bn for 2012
Newly-created University of Bamenda is expected to begin cruising at higher speed after adopting an annual budget of 3.2 billion FCFA. The 2012 budget was adopted recently during a session chaired by pro-chancellor Prof. Dominique Mvogo, and attended by vice chancellor, Prof. Tafah Edokat.
The budget session which held at the University Campus at Bambili took into cognizance varied needs of the institution and worked on a financial plan with a view to ensuring high standards at the university.
Apart from voting the budget, the issue of the Anglo-Saxon nature of the university came into focus. It was resolved that the University of Bamenda will be purely Ango-Saxon. By implication, all lectures would be in English.
The budget session was held in the wake of the release of the admission list into some faculties of the university. The faculties of Science and Health Sciences as well as the Higher Institute of Commerce and Management would come to add to the Higher Teachers’ Training College (ENS) and Higher Technical Teachers Training College (HTTC), all attached to the University of Bamenda, though with separate directors.
It is expected that the 2012 academic year would have a student enrolment of some 7000 students. The 3.2 billion FCFA budget would help to see the realization of varied projects at the university to pulsate with the vision of Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo, who sees it as “a university of the future”.

this is actually beautiful, i specially thank the govt of cameroon for decentrallising universities over the country. my advice will go to the tutors to help the dream of the ministry of higher education come true by not helping fraustrating students, those who are lazy, needs high marks and for paying extra unjustified charges on their various falculties.
most importantly give students a chance to attend a level of importance by respecting lecture hours and follow-ups.
